Sarah Hunter is a freelance photographer originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland. She studied Russian and Art History at the University of Glasgow and, in 2002, completed the one-year Documentary and Photojournalism programme at the International Center of Photography in New York.
Sarah was based in Beirut, Lebanon, for many years, where she worked on editorial and NGO photography assignments across the Middle East and Africa, focusing on conflict, humanitarian aid and climate change.
In 2019, driven by a longstanding interest in humanitarian issues through her photography, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Rights Law from the University of London.
Since returning to Northern Ireland in 2022, Sarah has been based there with her family and works as a photographer and media trainer.
