The Green Line

The Green Line in Nicosia, Cyprus, is a demilitarized buffer zone established in 1974 following the division of the island. It separates the Greek Cypriot south from the Turkish Cypriot north and is patrolled by the United Nations. The line runs through the city, creating a physical and political division that remains in place today.
